Aurora, July 9—Firemen's Excursion—The firemen of this place went on an excursion to Niagara Falls to-day. A special train started from here at five o'clock to convey them to Toronto in time to meet the boat for Niagara. About four hundred friends accompanied them. A special train will meet the boat in Toronto, and arrive here about eleven o'clock to-night.

Toronto, July 9—Police Court—The Collision on the Northern Railway—Robert Hughes, conductor, and William Marlow, engine-driver, on the Northern Railway, were charged with contravening the rules of the Northern Railway Company.

Evidence was given to the effect that, through negligence of defendants, the wood train on which they were employed as conductor and engineer ran into a passenger train on the Northern Railway on Saturday night [July 4, 1874], near Davenport station.

Mr. McNabb committed prisoners for trial.
