Contracts let for locomotives and passenger coaches.
The contract for the rolling stock of the Northern & Pacific Junction Railway Company was let a few days ago to the Crossen Company, of Cobourg. The specifications conform to those of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The contract for the locomotive for the same road, have been let to the Kingston Locomotive Works. The locomotive contract calls for the delivery of two engines in September, three in October, and the remainder in November. Altogether, ten locomotives will be required for the traffic. The road will be ready to be opened by the 26th of the present month at the latest, but in consequence of the dilatoriness in ordering the equipment, it cannot be opened before some time September, and may be delayed until November, unless in the meantime the Canadian Pacific acquires the system.
