With the opening of the new St. Clair Avenue West subway under the C.N.R. tracks at Caledonia Road for street car traffic, certain changes have been made in the routing of the street cars serving that district. The street cars no operate through to the old Weston Road, and when grading and widening work is completed to permit motor traffic under the new subway transportation conditions in the section will be vastly benefited. The next step in the completion of St. Clair Avenue grade-separation problem will be the opening of the westerly subway, near Keele Street, which is now well under way, and then St. Clair Avenue will be cleared of the hazards to through transportation which have existed for many years. The illustration above shows the subway at Caledonia Road, with a street car passing under the new railway overpass.
