Toronto and Guelph Railroad.
The question, whether or not, the Corporation of the City of Toronto should subscribe for stock in the Toronto and Guelph Railway Co., to the amount of £100,000 has been referred to the citizens of Toronto, to be decided by a majority of the qualified electors. The polling took place in the different wards on Tuesday and Wednesday, and at the close, the number of votes stood as follows:—
For Against St. George's Ward, 102 6 St. Lawrence Ward, 132 13 St. James' Ward, 208 27 St. Andrew's Ward, 130 31 St. David's Ward, 76 72 St. Patrick's Ward, 133 21 Totals 781 170.
