James Bay Ry.—At the recent session of the Dominion Parliament an extension of five years was granted for the completion of this line from near Parry Sound, Ont., to James Bay, and power was given to construct a branch from the mainline to Batchawana Bay, on Lake Superior. The line is in operation from a junction with the Canada Atlantic Ry., near Rose Point, to Parry Sound; the surveys have been completed to the French River, and construction will be proceeded with this year, as far as Ahmic Harbor on the Magnetawan River, about 35 miles. The contractors are Johnson, Beveridge and Poulin. (April, pg. 125.)
