Railway development.
Projected lines, surveys, construction, betterment, etc.
...
James Bay Ry.—The grading on this line has been practically completed from six miles south of the Severn River, 55 miles in all, and it has been about half graded between Beaverton and Toronto, 63 miles. Tracklaying is in progress south from Parry Sound, and on July 10 had reached to near Lake Joseph. The steel superstructure is ling erected over the Seguin River at Parry Sound, and the steel superstructures for the bridges at Wallace Cut, Jeannette's Narrows, Lake Muskoka, are being delivered.
A deputation recently waited on the Dominion Government to obtain consent to the carrying of the line through Orillia instead of the previously located route on the east side of Lake Couchiching. The deviation will add about five miles to the route. (July, pg. 285.)
