Across the bay

...

The G.T.R. have placed orders for twelve new engines to be used on the G.T.P., the first one of which came through here om Monday en route to the West. It weighed 132 tons and is equipped with electric head-light, the fire-box door working from the air brakes as also does the snow scrapers on the front of the engine. This is one of the longest engines to pass through Allandale, its length being so great that the tender alone covered the new scales here when the weighing department weighed it.
