Ontario forests provide business

(Special Despatch to The Globe.)

Bridgeburg, Feb. 7.—Railroad business at the frontier, at not only the Grand Trunk and Wabash terminals here, but also at the Michigan Central, have shown a decided boom in business. As to whether the present movement will last or not, railway officials cannot say.

In a recent twenty-fours the Grand Trunk handled some 4,000 cars over the International bridge, east and west, while the Michigan Central, for the same period, handled nearly 2,000 east and west. The Wabash figures are included in the Grand Trunk total.

Much of the eastbound freight moving out of this frontier terminal is pulp and pulpwood, which formerly went via Cobourg and other places, but is now being diverted.

The yards are busier now than they have been at any time since the beginning of the period of slackness, some months ago.

Railways: G.T.Ry., M.C.Rd., Wab.Rd.

Stations: Bridgeburg, Cobourg
