Interswitching demonstrated at expense of Commissioners

Canadian Press Despatch.

Simcoe, June 9.—The official car of the Board of Railway Commissioners for Canada, bearing members of the Commission to a sitting held here today, arrived via Lake Erie & Northern electric road. The official expected to switch here to the Wabash to go on to St. Thomas, but on arrival it was learned by them to their surprise that the car could not be transferred to the other road. The car was routed via Michigan Central and switched at Waterford, eight miles north. The humor the situation is in the fact that the Commissioner came to hear an application of the local manufacturers for an order for interswitching between the L.E. & N., representing the C.P.R. and the Grand Trunk, over which latter lines the Wabash has running rights, and they expected to go from here to St. Thomas over the Wabash.

Railways: C.P.Ry., G.T.Ry., L.E. & N.Ry., M.C.Rd., Wab.Rd.
