Grand Valley towns urge harbor work.

Brant, Norfolk and Waterloo Counties want Port Dover developed.

Special Despatch to The Globe.

Brantford, Jan. 29.—Brant, Norfolk and Waterloo counties will send Parliamentary and other representatives to Ottawa this week to wait on Hon. J. H. King, Minister of Public Works, to urge once again that development work be carried on at Port Dover, terminal of the Canadian National and Lake Erie & Northern Railways.

They will carry a memorandum which recites the advantages of Port Dover as a natural harbor, strategically located to serve the industrial and farming community in the Grand River Valley. It hold that, because of the highly developed industry of the district, the opening up of water transportation for receiving raw material and shipping out finished products would redound not only to the district, but to other Canadian sections. The harbor is an excellent one, with good facilities to northern points by electric railway freight service.

Thousands of tons of anthracite and soft coal could be hauled across the lake from Erie, Pennsylvania, with change of cars, thereby aiding the district materially and preventing further blockades at Bridgeburg through the "neck of the bottle" there.

Railways: C.N.Rys., L.E. & N.Ry.

Stations: Port Dover
