American and Canadian Railroad Directors.—Mr. Benedict, Chief Engineer on the Great Western Railroad has resigned that office, on account as it is understood of some misunderstanding with the American Directors. If the directory of these great undertakings is to be an agency for petty quibbling, the country will become infested with grasping [illegible—cormorants], and public works will become public nuisances.
