Electric signals at crossings.

If an experiment now being made on the Grand Trunk Railway turns out successful, the entire system of the road will in a short time be equipped with electric signals at every crossing. One of these electric bells is now being placed in position just west of St. Mary's, a point where several fatal accidents have occurred. The feature of the electric bell is that it will commence to ring when the train is within half a mile of either side of the crossing, thus warning travelers on the road. Something of this kind is needed very badly both at Water and Huron St. crossings in this town.

Railways: G.T.Ry.

Stations: Newmarket, St. Mary's
