The Metropolitan Railway Co., which operates an electric line on Yonge street between the C.P.R. crossing and Richmond Hill, suffered the loss by fire Sunday night of its car shed and almost all of its rolling stock. One car had been taken out to clear the line after the snowstorm, and upon its return the discovery was made that the shed was on fire. All thought of saving the shed and the four motor cars inside was soon abandoned. No damage was done to the power house. The loss will probably not exceed $10,000. It is supposed that fire was started by the contact of a live wire.
