Changing hands.
It was common report on the street yesterday that the Metropolitan has virtually passed to the Toronto St. Ry. Co.; and by way of partially confirming the transfer, we understand County Councillor Lundy and other County Commissioners go to the city this morning to hold a conference with the Street Railway Company, who have intimated a desire to have the County withdraw its suit—and in return will see to it that the terms of the agreement with the Metropolitan, with respect to decent cars, etc., are complied with at once. This looks like business. The Town of Newmarket should not allow the Metropolitan manager to hoodwink any longer. Now is the time to strike.
