Portland, Me., station and offices.—The new station and freight office building is expected to be completed by April 1. Work is being rapidly pushed forward by the contractor, J. W. Burrows. (Dec., 1902, pg. 403.)
An office building 92 ft. long, 45 ft. wide, and 33 ft. high, has recently been completed in connection with the shipping business. The steamship companies and the customs officers are given room on the ground floor, and the upper floor is entirely devoted a railway officials.
