The sale of Victoria Railway debentures advertised to take place yesterday was postponed until the 18th. inst.
The work of changing the gauge on the Northern railway will be commenced today, and will be carried on in two sections.
All the G.T.R. officials connected with the mixed and freight trains, which collided near the Don last week, have been discharged.
A large case of matches fell from a Grand Trunk railway waggon on Friday on Simcoe street. The violent friction caused them to ignite, and in an instant the whole case was in flames.
Canadian strawberries are commencing to arrive in the city from Oakville, Jordan, and other places along the line of the Great Western railway. On Saturday they sold at the station at from 17 to 19¢ a box per case.
