Hydro-Electric Power Commission, Ontario, Canada.—Since the Ontario Hydro-Electric Power Commission has refused to consent to a renewal for five years of the franchise of the Grand River Railway on Water Street, in Galt, Ont., the company has served notice that it will discontinue the freight service for manufacturers after March 2. The City Council of Galt is endeavouring to have the Hydro Commission change its decision, as the loss of the freight service will be a serious blow to the city's industries.
