The new station may open now almost any day.

A start had been made in overhauling the general waiting-room of the old station to make space for the divisional officers. Tickets are now being sold from the wicket of the ladies' room.

The G.T.R. track between Allandale and Barrie is being raised considerably to improve the grade, and a large number of laborers, chiefly Italians, are engaged. The company will expropriate a strip of land thirty feet wide in order to ease the curve. The waterfront is to be cribbed. Below the station the roadbed will be lowered as far as the overhead. It is understood that the new depot improvements include the placing of a fountain to rear of the dining-hall with a surrounding of green award.
