Favors electrification of Midland railway
At the November meeting of the Ontario County Council held in Whitby, the following resolution in regard to the electrifying of a part of the Grand Trunk Railway was carried unanimously:
"That in view of the purchase by the Government of Canada of the Grand Trunk Railway System, that this County Council request the Hydro-Electric Commission of Ontario to appoint a committee to enquire into the feasibility of electrifying that portion of the Grand Trunk Railway between the City of Toronto and Blackwater Junction then north to Orillia and Midland. And that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Secretary of the Hydro-Electric Commission of Ontario and the Hon. The Minister of Railways and Canals of Canada."
