Worst drift in ten years
At Wyevale, on the Allandale-Penetang branch, the snow drifted and packed so deep during the recent storm that the Wednesday morning passenger train, due at 11 o'clock, was unable to proceed and a snow plow, going to the rescue, was also in the same fix. This is not the first time trains have been delayed by drifts in that section, but it is the first-time in ten years they have been unable to get through.
Early this morning another plow, three locomotives and a gang of some thirty men left to dig the others out. It has been reported that on arrival the snow was so deep that the first plow was sufficiently covered so as to make it hard to find.
