Ice cutting started today
Scott Bros. began ice cutting operations today and despite reports to the contrary, the field has been declared pure and fit for any domestic use, according to a report released by Dr. N. W. Rogers, M.O.H., today.
It was stated in an early edition of a Toronto paper that the test was returned from the Department of Health as impure and was as low of grade D. While this is true in some sections of the bay, the field being cut by the Barrie firm is grade A.
It is learned the C.N.R. problem is in the depth of ice rather than impurity. To date the depth is considered too much below normal and there is a possibility of the harvest being taken from some other lake.
