New spring train service takes effect April 25th
In view of daylight saving time taking effect one minutes after midnight on Saturday, April 24th, important changes on the Canadian National Railways become effective on numerous trains, according to C. W. Johnston, general passenger traffic manager of the company. Although all trains will operate on standard time, certain train services will be adopted to suit the convenience of commuters and others in business using the advanced time.
The Continental Limited in service daily between Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver will leave Montréal at 7.55 p.m., instead of 7.40 p.m., effective Sunday, April 25th, making the run to Vancouver in three days and four nights, reducing the through time by 15 minutes. From Toronto the train will leave at 10.40 p.m., instead of at 10.50 p.m., as at present. The counterpart, running from west to east, will leave Vancouver 15 minutes later, arriving at its destination in Montréal without change.
