Building locomotives.
The Grand Trunk Railway Company will spend $500,000 in improvements in its mechanical department between now and the spring. Thirty new locomotives will be will be built, most of them in the company's Montréal shops. For the Grand Trunk Pacific another 25 are being constructed. The auditors of the railway report that the earnings for the week ending Dec. 14 were $929,821, as compared with $825,943 in the corresponding week last year.
