Grand Trunk Western second track.—The second track work between Port Huron, Mich. and Chicago, Ill., 335 miles, has been completed, with the exception of about 5 1/2 miles at Valparaiso, Ind. The gradients on the line have been reduced from 1 1/4% to 4/10 of 1 % eastbound, and to 5/10 of 1% westbound, and all the temporary bridges, etc., have been replaced by permanent structures.
