Left rails at Utterson.

On Thursday night No. 47 left the rails one mile south of Utterson, resulting in a few people being slightly shaken up but none were seriously injured. The entire train, with the exception of the mail car and Canadian Express car, all turned on their sides, rolling down a ten-foot embankment. The Dominion Express car, which was loaded rather heavy with express for north of North Bay, mixed things up pretty badly and the express messenger had a miraculous escape. Ice cream tubs and various other heavy consignments were tossed about all round him, considerable damage being done to fruit. Many baskets were crushed very badly. The line was completely blocked till about 10 o'clock Friday morning when the company had a track built around the wreck. The trains were all delayed, No. 46 did not arrive till 11 o'clock Friday morning and 64 got here at 3.15 p.m. The auxiliary did no get back till late Saturday night. The cause of the wreck is supposed to have been something broken underneath one of the trucks causing the baggage car to jump the rails.

The injured were attended to by G.T.R. doctors. The crew were Conductor Alf Lee, brakeman O. Spearing, J. Clark, Engineer.
