James Bay Ry.

The Chief Engineer on the James Bay Railway arrived in town on Sunday and spent between two and three days going over the country adjacent to Newmarket and Aurora, the Mayor and Council of both places taking the matter up with him of bringing the road through the two towns.

The engineer was satisfied he could get the proper grade but he was afraid it would add 8 or 9 miles to the length of the line. However, he promised to report to the directors and also consider the deviation of the line so that freight connection could be made with Newmarket bu a switch.
