Kingston, Smith's Falls and Pembroke Ry.—The finance committee of the Ottawa City Council have under consideration the application for a renewal of the bonus of $50,000 voted in 1893. A. T. Drummond explained that the K.S.F. and P. Ry. had sold out to the G.T.R. , and was seeking to obtain a revote of aid previously promised. The route proposed to be followed would give a line of 101 miles to Kingston, and a fine country would be opened up. Three years were asked for the construction of the line, as there were about 21 miles of rock cutting. (Oct., pg. 583).
