Betterment accommodation.
In response to repeated requests for more switch accommodation on the G.T.R. at Newmarket we were favored with a visit by two officials on Tuesday, Mr. W. R. Tiffin, Superintendent of the Northern Division, and Mr. Arthur White, Divisional Freight Supt. They were met by Mayor Cane and the general condition discussed on the premises. The gentlemen afterwards walked down the track to the Specialty works and discussed the matter with Mr. Wildman, the Toronto manager, who was here that day for the same purpose. The officials promised to send the company's surveyors here and the probabilities are that another switch will be built at the depot and the Specialty switch extended. The largely increased freight traffic here demands attention.
