Would speed work on Bloor Subway
Business men of district complain city is dilatory
Says railways held up
Bloor Street business men in the section immediately affected by the building of the subway between Lansdowne Avenue and Dundas Street at a meeting last night in St. Julian Hall blamed the city for the slow progress being made on the subway and arranged to carry their protest to the City Hall. it was stated that while construction was in progress business was at a standstill.
Members claimed that the railways were being held back because the city was not rushing the preliminary work of arranging for changes in sewers, water mains, and telephone and Hydro wires.
A committee of five was appointed to interview the Board of Control today and urge that the city's part of the work be speeded up. President M. Draimin presided at the meeting.
