Hurt near Maple

Jumping the C.N.R. railway tracks, about one mile north of Maple late Thursday afternoon a hand car carrying a gang of eight men, overturned in the ditch, injuring one seriously, whilst the rest received minor cuts and bruises. Thomas McCuaig and Edward Moore, both of Barrie, were rushed to the Barrie Hospital on the first train through Maple, whilst the remainder were given first aid treatment at the station by Dr. W. S. Caldwell of Maple and Dr. Williams of Aurora. McCuaig suffered a fractured skull but Moore's injuries were discovered to be slight. When the accident occurred the men were returning to the boarding car for the night after laying ties north of Maple. It is not yet known what caused the car to leave the rail.
