The Davis Tannery.
The new switch is completed and stands 500 feet upon the property.
The excavating is nearly all completed. The Forest City Paving Co. of London, Ont., has the contract for the whole work, which is to be completed by the 1st of September. The foundation is commenced and they expect to have a force of 25 men on the job by first of next week.
Mr. Holt, one of the members of the firm, is superintending the work. Three cars of cement arrived this week.
Teamsters hauling gravel by the yard are making over $4 a day and the contractors would like to have a dozen more teams making the same wages. 6,000 cubic yards of gravel will be used in the construction of the building.
