The Metropolitan.
Messrs. John Bros., who had the contract of driving the piles for the bridge crossing Dutchman's Bay, Newmarket, completed their part of the work on Saturday afternoon and everybody who has seen it says they did a good job.
The carpenters came on Tuesday morning and had the bridge ready for traffic in the afternoon.
On Saturday, the ground was broken from the Waterworks to Roe's Corner and by Tuesday night the line was in operation to the foot of Main St.
The Co. is endeavoring to find out the needs of the people and a change was made in the time table this week which will meet public favor. The first car leaves Newmarket at 7.40 a.m. and a new car is put on a 2 o'clock. A car leaves the city at 8.30 p.m., arriving here at 10 o'clock. See time table on page 2 of this issue.
Watson, the jeweler, has got frames all around town in public places, announcing the hours for departure of all regular cars by clock dials, leaving Newmarket, which is an attractive idea.
