On Monday Mrs. Scully's house at Chesley's pit, two miles south of this place on the Grand Trunk, was destroyed by fire along with the contents. The old lady, who lived alone had gone out for a few minutes and before she returned the house was seen by the section men, who were working on the railway in the vicinity, to be in flames. Nothing was saved but the cooking stove. Much sympathy is felt for this old lady in her loss.
