Railway notes.

...

The G.T.R. railway company is year by year paying more attention to beautifying their station grounds by sodding the lawns and planting here and there beds of beautiful flowers. A notable instance of this improvement is at Allandale, where Superintendent Tiffin has a gang of men at work sodding the terraces from the railway to Kempenfeldt Bay. The effect is very pretty and is much commented upon by hundreds of passengers who visit that point every day. Several flower beds will also be placed with good effect. It is also Mr. Tiffin's intention to sod the railway waterfront at Barrie station. Similar improvements will be made at other points on the line, it being the Superintendent's intention to make the stations of the Northern Division as clean, tidy and attractive as possible.
