G.T.R. smash at Allandale.

Barrie, Ont., 1904-01-02—Three more G.T.R. engines will be relegated to the scrap-iron heap as the result of two freight trains, one of them a double-header, coming together in the Allandale yard last night. It seems that a freight from the north and the regular Toronto freight were given the semaphore signal to enter the yard together, which they did at full speed.

The impact was something terrific, resulting in the complete wreck of the three engines, while many of the cars were also smashed to kindling wood. Both crews were able to jump and save themselves.

Railways: G.T.Ry.

Stations: Allandale
