The passenger train from Meaford, No. 54, on Saturday morning did not arrive till 9 a.m., owing to the angle cock on the engine breaking shortly after leaving Collingwood. This break would not allow any air back to the coaches and consequently the train had to use the old-fashioned hand brakes.
