Monday [April 1] afternoon a freight train of fourteen cars bound from Stratford to Port Dover was wrecked at Burgessville. A broken rail is said to have been the cause. The cars were piled up and overturned and five cars of wheat, two cars of coal, and one of cement had their contents scattered abroad. Some buildings on the railway side were almost demolished by the cars, which dashed into them. There was no one hurt. As the result of the wreck traffic from Pt. Dover to Stratford was diverted by way of Brantford.
