Grand Trunk Ry.—At a sitting of the Board of Railway Commissioners at Hamilton, Ont., April 12, an agreement was reached respecting the construction of a subway under the G.T.R. at St. Pauls Ave., Brantford, at an estimated cost of $50,000 for a full sized subway, or $14,000 for one for foot passengers only. In the event of a full sized subway being order the city will be able to extend its street railway into the Terrace Hill district. St. Pauls Ave was closed up at the railway under an arrangement made in 1905. The company raised no objections to a subway being constructed but objected to being called upon contribute towards its cost. The commission deferred judgment on the case of subway to be provided and the apportionment of costs between the city and railway. (April, pg. 136.)
