It is now stated that arrangements between the Dominion Government and the G.T.R. with reference to running special refrigerator cars, are about completed. The scheme embraces a system of cold storage accommodation for the shipment of produce from Canada to Great Britain. Cars with refrigerator accommodation will run from Meaford, Goderich, Sarnia, Wiarton and Point Edward into Toronto, where the contents will be made up into car lots and send through by fast through train to Montréal, Toronto thus becoming the central point for Western Ontario. Refrigerator cars will also run from Rouse's Point, N.Y., St. Johns, Que., Massena and Chaudiere Junction direct to Montréal, where their contents will be loaded onto the ocean steamers. Fast time will be made by all trains to which the refrigerator cars are attached.
