Paris, Ont., April 14.—A disastrous fire broke out at the Paris Alabastine Works about 12.30 this afternoon. Despite the efforts of the volunteer brigade, numbering 60 men, the blaze made rapid headway, and was not got under control till 8 o'clock. The entire plant was destroyed. One fireman, Bert Hatch, was killed while battling with the flames, and several were seriously injured.
