First train over T.N.O.
On Saturday night passenger train No. 47, popularly known as the Cobalt Special, was the first passenger train to run from Nipissing Junction into North Bay over the new T. & N. O. spur line recently constructed. This train was piloted into North Bay by Passenger Trainmaster Little and Trainmaster Piggott had the honor of conducting the first freight train over the new line. For many years the G.T.R. has been dependent on the C.P.R. for their entrance to North Bay, but will be in a much more independent position now since they have a definite agreement with the Government road for running rights over their line.
