Steel too hot to handle on job
Lindsay, July 5.—L. T. Braunton of Braunton Contractors called his men off the job at the new CNR freight shedsThe previous freight sheds were consumed by fire on 1954-01-01The Globe and Mail (Toronto), 1954-01-02, pg. 1, col. 7. this afternoon because of the heat. The mercury registered 126 in a partly excavated section and steel structure was so hot that it could not be handled by bare hands.
