By an amendment to the Government Railways' Act passed last session of the Dominion Parliament, the Goverment has secured running rights over the G.T.R. between Montréal and Coteau Junction, and over the line of the Canada Atlantic Ry., to Depot harbor, as well as over any future extensions or branches of the C.A. Ry. The Government railway may transact a through freight and passenger business, and a local passenger business, and the terms upon which such business shall be done, as well as the tariffs, shall be decided upon by, and subject to the approval of the Railway Commissioners.
