In the matter of the application of the Canadian National Railway Company for an Order authorizing it to abandon operation of the Bessemer Spur, commencing at Bessemer Station, mileage 0.00 (mileage 78.1, Maynooth Subdivision) to Child's Mine, mileage 7.34 in the Province of Ontario, a total distance of 7.34 miles:

Upon hearing the application at the sittings of the Board held at Bancroft, Ontario, on the 7th day of July, 1965, in the presence of Counsel for the Canadian National Railway Company, and for the Townships of Carlow; Mayo; Dungannon; Faraday; Monteagle; Herschel; Bangor; Wicklow and McClure; the Village of Bancroft; the Bancroft and District Chamber of Commerce, and various businessmen, residents and clergymen of the District, and pursuant to oral judgment given at the hearing—

It is hereby ordered as follows:

  1. The Canadian National Railway Company is authorzed to abandon operation of its Bessemer Spur, commencing at mileage 0.00 mileage 78.1, Maynooth Subdivision) to Child's Mine at mileage 7.34, a total distance of 7.34 miles.The said abandonment of operation may take place any time after the 31st day of July, 1965, upon thirty days' prior notice filed with the Board and to be posted in the Company's stations at Bancroft and Detlor.
  2. The Canadian National Railway Company shall advise the Board that abandonment of operation has taken place within one week of such abandonment.
