Dundas Subdivision

Trains will not required terminal clearance passing from one subdivision to another at ... Lynden ... provided train orde rsignal, if any, indicates "proceed".

Distance, station to East junction switch, 0.13 mile.

1. Movement from Fergus Subdivision, and through main track crossover, may be made without flag protection after complying with Rule 512 and obtaining "Not Train Approaching" indication. In observance of Rule 255 dispatcher must record such permission in train order book, as transmitted to and acknowledged by conductor. When communication with train dispatcher is interrupted regular trains will proceed on time table authority.

2. East junction switch is equipped with (a) switch indicator on cement post; (b) electric lock; (c) derail on Fergus Subdivision, pipe connected to switch and located 365 feet west of this switch. Do not open door of electric lock while switch indicator at this switch shows "Train Approaching" indication, except on authority of dispatcher at London, as the opening of door will cause automatic block signal No. 137 to indicate "stop".

3. To operate East junction switch:

(a) Press button on switch indicator.

(b) When switch indicator shows "No Train Approaching" unlock and open door of electric lock.

(c) When discs of electric lock are vertical, turn handle to left as far as it will go, then switch may be operated in usual manner.

(d) After electric lock has been operated, train movement completed and switch reset for Dundas Subdivisio, handle of elecric lock must be returned to full normal postion and door closed and locked.

(e) When discs of electric lock are horizontal switch cannot be operated, except by use of time release on authority from dispatcher at London>

(f) To opeate time release—turn handle to right as far as it will go and when it returns to former postion, discs on electric lock will show vertical. Switch may then be operated and eastward movement made under flag protection as prescribed by Rule 99.

4. Movement to Fergus Subdivision may be made without use of time release only when head end of train is stopped between west switch of crossover and junction switch. Trainmen must not close junction switch until last car has passed derail.

5. Trains moving from Harrisburg to Brantford, except those having work to do at Lynden station, will proceed through the wye to West junction switch and comply with instructions contained in paragraph 1.

Trains may leave without terminal clearance.
