Looking north from Queen St E along the Don Esplanade. The subject of this E.L. Ruddy Company photograph was the Red Indian Motor Oils/Marathon Blue Gasoline billboard atop McColl-Frontenac Oil Company Ltd. Beyond is Conduits National Company Ltd. with its trademark product XCELADUCT emblazoned on the chimney. The General Steel Wares Ltd. factory appears in the background. Note the absence of C.P.Ry. signal 1068 on the signal bridge; an Absolute Staff System was used between Leaside and Don until installation of c.T.c. in 1944Railway Signaling, January 1945, pg. 27.

Looking north from Queen St E along Bayview Ave extension. T.T.Ry. signal bridge no. 205 is to the left; note the non-standard arrangement of C.P.Ry. signal 1068, likely due to sighting issues on account of the Queen St E overhead bridge. Signage on the signal bridge (e.g., number plate for C.P.Ry. signal 1068) has been painted black. West of Bayview Ave are trucks for S. McCord & Co. parked in the Gypsum Lime & Alabastine Canada Ltd. yard. C.N.Rys. boxcar 451813 is spotted at Wiseman Brothers. Barely visible in the distance is a tank car and boxcar spotted at Conduits National and Ontario Honey, respectively.
