Schomberg.
Work on the new $40,000 concrete highway, which is under construction through the village has been at a standstill for the last few days owing to lack of material.
When the work was commenced early in June, there was an understanding with the engineers that it was to be completed by the first of August. Since then, however, railway condition have made it impossible to have material shipped and as a result the roadway is still far from being completed.
It is hardly likely that the road will be finished until well into October, and it is just a question if the lights are installed before winter.
As soon as the road is finished the Hydro Commission will light the village streets.
