Another lot of the modern first-class coaches which the Grand Trunk Railway have been building in their Montréal shops during the past few weeks, have been completed and place in service on the system. Five of them were turned out of the shops last week, and are very handsomely finished both in their interior fittings and exterior appearance. They are exactly the as those turned out last December. The new cars form part of what is known as the 800 series. The same shops have also completed ten cabooses or vans that are run on freight trains. The seats on each side of the cars are wide, and upholstered with heavy plush cushions, so that they can be utilized as a lounge when needed. A stove with an oven attached has also been placed in each of the cars. An ice box is another addition not usually placed in a caboose. A commodious writing desk is observed at one end of the car, and a roomy wardrobe the whole height of the van is added.
