News from the railway town

...

A verdict completely exonerating the crew of the G.T.R. train that struck an automobile driven by Harry Barnard at the Elia road, near Downsview, on the morning of Jan. 1, was returned by the jury at the inquest last evening into the dead of Mrs. Louisa Barnard, who died on the train while being brought to the city. The jury in their finding stated that the fatality was due entirely to the weather conditions that prevailed that day, and also exonerated Mr. Barnard from any blame in connection with the accident. The case was of particular local interest because the train crew were from Allandale.
