Relaying steel on western lines.—During 1922, 338.93 miles of heavy steel rails were laid to replace lighter ones, of which 305.83 miles were laid with 85 lb. rials and 33.1 miles with 80 lb. rails, as follows: Graham, Quibell and Kashabowie Subdivisions, Ont., 35.14 of 85 lb; Sprague Subdivision, Minnesota, 8.20 miles of 85 lb.; Minaki, Gladstone, Pleasant Point, Harte, Marfield and Togo Subdivisions, Man., 211.99 miles of 85 lb.; Maryfield Subdivision, Sasj., 50.50 miles, 85 lb; Craik Subdivision, Sask., 26.6 miles, 80 lbs.; Vegreville and Battle River Subdivisions, Alta., 6.5 miles, 80 lb.
